I quit the game of 40k a decade ago, and really had no intention of playing again. I spent the next ten years painting and hobbying in various game systems. Then COVID happened, and 40k sang it’s siren song to me again.
I was completely lost and overwhelmed by the new rules for 40k. A friend introduced me to the Art of War podcast, and I was instantly drawn to the way Nick and the coaches broke down complex rules in ways that a new player could digest. I went from knowing nothing at the table, to being able to functionally play the game in a matter of weeks.
This lead to a desire to better grasp of the game. I hired Nick as a coach, and that’s when my real growth as a player started. I never knew I was playing checkers when everyone else was playing chess. He showed me a new way to approach the game, and every week I progressed as a player. I went from 0-3 at a RTT in my early months of coming back, to being invited to the Games workshop US Series Finale! The turn around was in less than a year, and it would not of been possible without Nick and the Art of War Team!
