Introduction

I’m Russell Tassin I have been playing Warhammer 40K since 2018. Since then I found my love for Chaos, especially Black Legion. I Specialize in Chaos Space Marines, Thousand Sons, Chaos Knights, Custodes, Necrons, and Space Marines. Since then I have come to be known as the Warmaster!

Achievements

Over the course of the last four ITC seasons I have been the top Black Legion player and working on a 5th year. I have been among the top CSM players each of these years one of which earning the title of best in faction for CSM in the ITC. The wins are fun but my biggest accomplishment is when people see they are paired with me they know win or lose it’s going to be a fun game.

Coaching Experience

I have been coaching players in my community helping them transition to competitive 40K. This is very important to me. Going to your first GT can be very intimidating. Seeing a player succeed that I have been able to help is a bigger accomplishment to myself than any of my personal successes.

Game Style and Specialty

My style focuses on fun for myself and my opponent. In my local community we have adopted the philosophy of “it’s my job to make the game fun for my opponent”. Things don’t always go your way. Sometimes you fail that three inch charge or your opponent makes all their saves. Thats where the fun helps in a big way. If you’re laughing and having fun you won’t focus on the bad turn. It will allow you to look forward to your next turn and find ways to get back in the game. Worst case scenario you lose but you still had a fun game, so give your opponent a high five when he makes that 12″ charge. Making Friends and creating memories is where the rubber meets the road in 40K.

Teaching Philosophy

I always try to emphasize to never feel defeated. There is always a way back in the game no matter how bleak it looks. Keeping your head in the game will let you think clearly and find a way to take your last couple models on the table and snatch victory from the jaws of defeat!
